Thought I would share

Here is what I have been working on lately. My SIL is due with her first baby in March and I made her a couple sweaters, and blanket sets. Here’s the latest. :-)

I am getting s p a m m e d through this entry. So I turned off the comments.

Next project.

I posted some ideas before, but obviously I did something wrong and it went into the abyss.

I suggested that maybe we could do some squares for children’s blanket (like security blanket size). I think if we decide on a size and how many squares we need for each. we could maybe just pick a brand of yarn (like Peace Fleece) and a color family for each (like earth tones or pastels) and they would still be individual, but sewn randomly together would still make a nice corredinated blanket.

Just and idea. I also said that I am not good at sewinf knits at this point. I need a lot more practice, so I couldn’t do that part, we woudln’t want anything falling apart. But I do enjoy weaving in the ends (don’t call me weird, LOL!) So I’d be happy to volunteer for that part.

Sue's Introduction :-)

My name is Sue and I am a SAHM of to wonderful girls (almost 6 and 3.5 years old). I have been together with my DH for almost 13 years, and married almost 10. We live in MA. I grew up in Texas (my parents moved us to MA when I was 15) And I even lived in central Jersey for a few years. I have quiet a few hobbies; Knitting, sewing, crocheting, scrapbook, but the one that means to most to me is photography. I am not a great photographer but I love taking pictures of my kids. :0) I have thousands of pictures of them and my oldest isn’t even 6 yet. :-D I have a blog Closet Geek, it is pretty boring, LOL! And I just set up a knit blog Novice Knits

I honestly can’t remember when I start trying to learn how to knit. I have been crocheting for about 20 years. And the whole that whole time I had been messing around with knitting. But I was having a hard time getting started, so I’d fall back to crocheting. Then this past fall I decided enough was enough I was going to learn to do and do it right. It helped a great deal that the parenting board I post on has a ton of knitters (you know who you are) and were/are so willing to answer my questions.

I knitted a whole bunch of scarves for Chirtmas gifts for practice. And I am now working on my first sweater. It is a raglan, and it is for my future neice or nephew. And I have been bombarding those same poor people with a lot of questions lately.

I wanted to learn how to knit so I can find another way to make things. I love making gifts for people. I also find the process of knitting very relaxing. So while I do get nervous about finishing a project if there is a deadline (especially with this sweater SIL is not going to be pregnant forever) I don’t get frustrated if I have to take soemthing out or even start all over. I like to knit, the end product is bonus. :-)

Oh and the other important thing you should know about me. I type HORRIBLY and I am a terrible proof-reader, sorry (blush)
